Astronomy as an example for the scientific method

Pointcare thinks astronomy was an example for scientists. Looking up we were able to see regularities in the movements of the planets. Once we had discovered the simple laws the predicted their movements so accurately, we were able to look at other pheonomena on earth and think 'maybe there are laws here, too'.

If we did not have this example, we might not have had the courage to look for the complex rules that rule all the physical word, science might not have flourished as it did.

The scale of astronomy showed us that these laws were fixed in time and space (all stars move the same, far away (in time, and space) or close at hand)

The discovery of heliocentrism showed us how easy it could be to be tricked by our senses.
