Removing choices for the poor

Examples include minimum room sizes, requiring bathrooms in housing, forcing pension saving and health insurance, forbidding organ sales, minimum wage laws, etc. etc.

There are oten proposals to 'help' people by removing choices. People seem to assume that if they forbid houses <40m2, then poor people's living situations will improve magicly. Instead, the price will go up, and they will not be allowed to legally chose a smaller apartment to save money.

The idea that someone needs to be protected from selling their organs or breast milk is also strange. If I am willing to make that sale, surely my situation is so dire that not making the sale would be much worse for me.
