Stuffing Envelopes

It is faster to stuff, say, 500 envelopes if you do it one at a time than if you first fold all the letters, then put each in an envelope, then close all the envelope.

This is because doing one at a time (lean, JIT) involves less shifting around of piles of paper!

It also has the advantage that you become better as you go, and you learn of issues. For example if the letter needs to be folded in three to fit in the envelope, it is best to know that on the first letter, not after having folded 500 pieces of paper!
