Value of Shortcuts

(From an interview with Peter Thiel) In the baby-boomer generation, it paid to take shortcuts. In politics this would be making your policy follow the polls to pick up votes. In education this would be 'go to a good college and jump right into a high paying job'. In day to day life, this is listening to the experts. In the millenial generation, everyone is using those shortcuts, they are no longer special. There is now value in avoiding the shortcuts. (Munger: buy when everyone is selling)
